ARTISTS
Olga Brereton
I am a British artist from Devon.
I always felt a great desire to create and currently work from a countryside studio near Dartmoor.
I have been drawing and painting all my life and for many years I took private art lessons. I was also lucky enough to study art history at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. I have also had a career as a corporate graphic designer and published two books as an illustrator.
I've always loved plants and, inspired by the beauty of Devon, I got certified as an RFS gardener. Now I can create not only on paper, but also with plants in gardens.

Olga Brereton is available for private bookings

Available most Tuesdays and some Thursdays from 10am until 1pm.
Private tutoring, history of art discussion club, garden planting schemes, plant watch.

I found the reference photo and a short description of the day when we bought our house, the previous owner was a retired art teacher. It was with a few other reference photos that I have since used. The description with this photograph was that, the formalities of the wedding were very formal, the girls behaved themselves until they were released from the relentless photo shots, at that point they ran and ran using their pent up energy. Because I didn?t have any reference to the photographer I

In the world of art, few subjects capture the essence of grace and elegance quite like the dancer. This stunning portrait encapsulates the beauty of ballet, showcasing not just the physical prowess of the dancer but also the emotional depth that comes with the art form. The dancer, adorned in a flowing orange costume, seems to defy gravity, her limbs extended in a perfect display of strength and poise. The choice of color is particularly striking the warm tones of her outfit contrast beauti

I picked up the paint brush in May 2023 after a break of almost 20 years doing any art at all. I picked oils as my medium because I work full time and I love that I can stop and start my painting and not worry about it drying out too much! The painting I've attached is ALMOST complete. The canvas board is 20"x16". From a reference photo my husband took, it's a beautiful scene of the beach at Sidmouth in Devon, close to where we live. I learn something new with every painting I do. Oil on panel 6x4.I love the work of John Bratby and Turner Vincent with the way they use thick thick paint. So I decided to play with small panels and do a series of owls. I have just been working on a series of corvid paintings in ink and watercolour so looked for a challenge. I now can't stop lol looks like I am going to have to go bigger soon.
